CONSERVATION COMMISSION
Town of Monterey, Massachusetts
                                                                        
MEETING DATE: 5/12/08
Present: Richard Andrus, Timothy Lovett, Christopher Blair and David Dempsey
The meeting convened at 6:10p.m.

Kutsher’s Sports Academy, 25 Deerwood Park Dr. RDA – upgrade existing septic and install new water line for the “Shoreline” house.(T. Lovett is the project manager)
Matt Puntin of SK Design and representative for Kutsher’s Sports Academy gave a run down of the proposed project.  A motion was made, seconded and approved unanimously to approve the project as a N3 subject to the following conditions: Excess material handled outside buffer zone, compact gravel drive, stabilize disturbed areas.

Town of Monterey, Lake Garfield – NOI – winter drawdown (C. Blair is the project manager)
The Board finalized the Order of Conditions with additional conditions.  Documents will be hand delivered to the Select Board and Highway Department and a copy was mailed to DEP, Ken Wagner and the Friends of Lake Garfield.

For Discussion:
1.      Mail was reviewed.
2.      Minutes from 4.14.08 were approved as written.
3.      The Board reviewed a written complaint received from Mr. Weinstock regarding damage to his dock which he feels occurred due to the annual Lake Garfield drawdown.  Also attached was a letter from the Select Board to Mr. Weinstock suggesting a meeting with the Select Board, Conservation Commission and Director of Operations; the Board is waiting on a response.
4.      Judy Bach is going to look into a complaint received regarding a cordoned off area of Lake Garfield that gives the appearance of a private lake on the public lake.  
5.      The Board reviewed the ZBA special permit application for Regenstreich at 7 Seven Arts Rd and based on the information provided determined that the project was out of the Con Comm’s jurisdiction.
6.      The Board approved paying $25 to the BNRC – form will be given to the Accountant for payment.
7.      Judy Bach inspected the Brewer Circle site and the problem has been taken care of.
